Paint protection film, ceramic window tint, and paint correction are three of the most requested services at Tempe Auto Spa. They solve different problems, and understanding how each one works makes it easier to choose the right plan for your vehicle.
Paint Correction: Restoring the Finish First
Paint correction removes swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation from your clear coat. A technician inspects the paint under bright lighting, measures where needed, and then uses machine polishers with compounds and polishes to level a very thin layer of clear coat until defects disappear.
The result is a deeper, clearer reflection. Because correction permanently removes defects rather than hiding them, it is usually the first step before any film or coating goes on. Sealing in a flawed finish would lock those flaws in place.
Paint Protection Film (PPF): A Physical Shield
PPF, also called clear bra, is a transparent urethane film applied to painted surfaces. As an XPEL Authorized Dealer, we install XPEL film that is precision-cut for your vehicle and wrapped around panel edges for a clean, nearly invisible look.
The film absorbs impacts from rock chips, road debris, and sand that would otherwise damage paint. Ceramic Window Tint: Heat and UV Control
Ceramic tint is a window film made with nano-ceramic particles that block infrared heat and UV rays without relying on dark dyes or metal. That means strong heat rejection even in lighter shades, with no interference with phone, GPS, or radio signals.

How the Three Work Together
A common sequence is paint correction first, then PPF on the areas most exposed to damage, and ceramic tint on the glass. Correction makes the paint look its best, PPF preserves that finish against physical damage, and tint protects the people and interior inside.
Many owners also add ceramic coating on top of PPF and remaining paint for easier washing and extra gloss. Each vehicle is different, so we recommend a plan based on how you drive, where you park, and how long you plan to keep the car.
